Framer React Export vs Unframer vs deframer
Updated 15 October 2026
Framer's React Export plugin (unframer) exports single components into a React app you already have, for a monthly fee. If you want the whole Framer site as React code instead, deframer exports every page as a Next.js project from the site's link, for one payment.
React Export, Unframer and the alternatives compared
| Tool | Exports | Needs | Output goes into | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| React Export plugin (unframer) | Components you select | The Framer project | Your existing React app | $50 or $250 a month |
| Proofly React Export | Components you select | The Framer project | A Vite + React project or an npm package | Free preview, paid exports |
| HTML exporters | Static copies of the pages | The site's link | Any static host | Varies by tool |
| deframer | The whole site | The site's link | A Next.js project that runs on its own | Free preview, then one payment |
React Export and Unframer
React Export is the Framer plugin and Unframer is its command line tool. You select components in your Framer project, then run npx unframer to download them as React files with TypeScript definitions, and import them in Next.js, Remix, Vite or another React framework. It is built for developers who already have an app and want Framer-designed pieces in it. The plugin listing warns that you need React knowledge, and asks for a $50 a month (personal) or $250 a month (commercial) subscription.
Other component plugins
Plugins such as Proofly React Export work the same way: pick components in the Framer editor and get them as React code, either as a starter Vite project or as a package to install in your app. Like React Export, they need the Framer project open, and they export components rather than whole sites.
When you want the whole site: deframer
deframer starts from the other end. You give it the link of a published Framer site or template, and it builds a Next.js project with every page as a route, named sections, the animations and breakpoints, the CMS pages, and the images and fonts. It needs no plugin and no access to the Framer project, and the project runs on its own. See Framer to Next.js: copy any Framer site into a real codebase for the steps.
Which one to use
- You have a React app and need a hero or pricing section designed in Framer: a component plugin.
- You want to leave Framer and own the site as code: deframer.
- You only need the site online elsewhere, unchanged: an HTML exporter. See Framer to HTML, or a real codebase?

What it costs: Framer, a designer, or deframer
Keeping a site on Framer's Pro plan costs $30 a month, billed yearly: $360 every year, for each site, for as long as it stays on Framer. Hiring a freelance Framer designer to build a site usually costs $1,500 to $5,000, before any change you ask for later.
deframer is one payment: $39 once until 1 November. It turns any Framer site or template into a codebase you own, so you start from a finished design instead of an empty page, and you host it where you choose, on a free or low-cost plan if you like.
| Option | Cost | What you pay for |
|---|---|---|
| Framer Pro plan | $360 a year, every year | Hosting and editing one site on Framer |
| Freelance Framer designer | $1,500 to $5,000 per site | Someone designing and building the site for you |
| deframer Lifetime | $39 once until 1 November | Every page of every site as Next.js code, re-sync forever |
Over three years, Framer Pro alone comes to $1,080 for one site. deframer is paid once, for every site, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hosting your code is billed by the host you pick.

Which one should a developer pick?
If you already have a React app and want a few Framer-designed components in it, use a component plugin. If you want the whole Framer site as your own codebase, export the site.
