Self-host a Framer site on Vercel, Netlify or your own server
Updated 15 October 2026
Framer doesn't let you download a site to host elsewhere, so you turn it into code first. With deframer, any published Framer site becomes a Next.js project you can deploy to Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare or your own server, then point your domain at it.
Two ways to self-host a Framer site
| Reverse proxy | Export to code (deframer) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the pages come from | Still Framer: your server fetches each page from it | Your own Next.js app |
| Framer plan | Still needed; Framer's Advanced Hosting is on Pro and Enterprise | Not needed once the site is exported |
| You can change | Headers, caching, authentication, routing | Everything: the code, layout, content and backend |
| Best for | Serving a Framer site under a path of a site you already run | Owning the site and leaving Framer hosting |
With a reverse proxy, a server you control (Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, NGINX) forwards each visitor to your Framer site and serves the answer, so you control delivery while Framer keeps hosting and editing the content. It doesn't give you the code and doesn't replace your Framer plan. To own the site outright, export it; the rest of this guide covers that.
Why move off Framer hosting
- Own the code. The site lives in your repository, not only in a Framer project.
- Add what Framer can't do. Logins, a database, server code, payments, or a backend you already run.
- Choose where and how it runs. Your host, your region, your build pipeline.
- Control the cost. Framer plans are billed per site; a Next.js site can run on a free tier or a server you already pay for.
How to self-host a Framer site
Turn the site into a Next.js project. Log in once, then export it from its published link:
npx deframer@latest loginnpx deframer@latest create https://yoursite.framer.website ./siteRun it and check it. Start it locally, then compare it with the live Framer site:
cd site && pnpm devnpx deframer@latest verify ./sitePut it in a Git repository and push it to GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket.
Deploy it to the host you prefer (see below).
Move the domain. Add your domain on the new host, then change its DNS records at your registrar to the ones the host gives you. Remove the domain from Framer once the new site answers.
Where to host it
| Host | How |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Import the project from GitHub; Next.js is detected and deployed on every push. |
| Netlify | Import from GitHub; its Next.js support builds and serves the app. |
| Cloudflare | Deploy with Cloudflare's Next.js adapter to run on its network. |
| Your own server | Run pnpm build and pnpm start with Node.js, or deploy with Docker or Coolify. |
Images and fonts are downloaded into the project, so the hosted site loads nothing from Framer's servers.
Keep your search rankings
- Keep the same page addresses. The export uses the site's own paths, so links and bookmarks keep working.
- Check titles, descriptions and social images on the main pages after the move.
- Submit the sitemap in Google Search Console and watch the Pages report for a few weeks.
Still designing in Framer?
You don't have to stop. Publish in Framer, then run npx deframer@latest sync in the project and deploy again. Files you changed are kept and listed. See Framer to Next.js for what the project contains, and every way to export a Framer website if you only need a static copy.

What it costs: Framer, a designer, or deframer
Keeping a site on Framer's Pro plan costs $30 a month, billed yearly: $360 every year, for each site, for as long as it stays on Framer. Hiring a freelance Framer designer to build a site usually costs $1,500 to $5,000, before any change you ask for later.
deframer is one payment: $39 once until 1 November. It turns any Framer site or template into a codebase you own, so you start from a finished design instead of an empty page, and you host it where you choose, on a free or low-cost plan if you like.
| Option | Cost | What you pay for |
|---|---|---|
| Framer Pro plan | $360 a year, every year | Hosting and editing one site on Framer |
| Freelance Framer designer | $1,500 to $5,000 per site | Someone designing and building the site for you |
| deframer Lifetime | $39 once until 1 November | Every page of every site as Next.js code, re-sync forever |
Over three years, Framer Pro alone comes to $1,080 for one site. deframer is paid once, for every site, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hosting your code is billed by the host you pick.

Questions
Can you host a Framer site somewhere else?
Two ways. A reverse proxy serves your Framer site through your own server while Framer still hosts the content. To leave Framer hosting, export the site to code first, with deframer (a Next.js project) or an HTML exporter (a static copy), then deploy it anywhere.
Where can I host the exported site?
Anywhere that runs a Next.js app: Vercel, Netlify, Cloudflare, Coolify, Docker or your own server with Node.js.
Will my domain and SEO move with it?
The domain moves when you point its DNS at the new host. Keep the same page addresses so links and search rankings carry over, and check every page once the new host is live.
Do I lose the Framer CMS?
The CMS pages come with the export as pages in the project. To keep editing content in Framer, run deframer sync after you publish; or move the content into a CMS or files you edit yourself.
How much does Framer hosting cost?
Framer's pricing page lists a free plan, Basic at $10 a month and Pro at $30 a month, billed yearly, plus Enterprise. Pro comes to $360 a year for each site. Self-hosting a Next.js site can be free on hobby tiers or cost a few dollars a month on a server.
